This is a bit of a loaded question as it really depends on the changes they make. I think that they'll command $70k+ and will likely get it. If the changes to the suspension/frame and engine/steering that have been discussed in previous videos is accurate, I could see that making sense.

The only way it will be worth 70k is if they build it so it is worthy of replacing the Land Cruiser in the US.
And then, what do you with the GX? You can't charge much more than 70k for it b/c it starts to run into the LX.
I totally agree and hear you, but the odds are that the Cruiser will also see a price hike. These vehicles are not going to see a decline in cost anytime soon. Will take a few years for things to stabilize. Many new auto's are fetching $10-$15k over sticker and people are paying.

I'm sure you probably know that the Land Cruiser 300 is not going to be sold in the USA.
The base price for the Land Cruiser 300 is $46,500 USD equivalent. About $60k USD for a mid trim equivalent to maybe a Limited 4Runner. The GR Sport - double locked TRD Pro equivalent LC300 is $67k USD. And about $85k for something like we had in the LC200 that sold here for $89k sticker, but typically about $78-80k actual price of transaction. LX600 starts about $90k. I'm guessing once the covid issues work out you'll be able to pick one up for $85 or so.
Considering that they've got to slot a GX550 in between the 4R and LX, I'd think it would range from $55-90k. And that would put the 4R ranging from $35-60k roughly.
I'd be very surprised to see a new 4Runner go past $60k MSRP without a twin turbo v6 and/or a PRIME model PHEV. It should start below the '22 tundra that starts at $36k. So I'd guess starting price for 2wd base model would be around $35k, SR5 premium around $40, TRD OR maybe $45-47 and TRD Pro topping the range MSRP at around $55-60. But in normal times you could usually get about $2-4k off below MSRP.
But - you can push $60k in a sienna now, so what do I know??

My max would be around 65k out the door for a 23 pro. I figure owning a 21 pro in lunar rock, I already have a trade in that will be very high to offset things. Assuming I want it, which would be if they just modernize interior, tech, and don’t totally screw up things, then really the biggest problem would be if they just delay it.
I would not be surprised to see the TRD Pro push $60k in a 6th gen, but with inflation and the odds being it's a 24'.....who knows. The 23' Sequoia TRD Pro is reported to start at $66k, and the 2022 was in the $64K range. Should the 4runner follow a similar path it would keep them under $60k. It seems like they'd want to keep a price gap to the Sequoia.
What would I pay for it? Considering it has less tech than a $40k Rav4, not very much, a current 2022 TRD Pro.....~$45k. We're talking about lacking and OLD features, no power, poor MPG, 5sp tranny, no front locker, if the body didn't look so good, and there's literally no competition for it if you want/need a 3rd row SUV that can off-road, no one would buy it. Not when the Jeep/Bronco has more off-road prowess, more power, tons more tech for almost the same pricing. I can appreciate low tech/reliable, but price has to reflect what it's lacking. Jeep/Ford are making much more capable off road packages WITH all the tech for around the $60k (if we set stupid markups aside).
It's why in 20' when I got rid of my 98' S10 I had driven for 19 years I went into a full size pickup over a 4-runner. Better safety rating, HD 360 cameras, heated steering wheel, much better interior, quieter ride, more towing/hauling, 430hp and 460 ft/lbs torque with the same MPG, blind-spot monitoring, heated/ventilated seats, way more rear seat room, the list goes on for what was only about $4k more. Does it off-road as well as a 4-runner...of course not, but it does the off-roading I need to, and does everything else way better.
I simply won't buy one until they either price them according to how far behind the competition they are, or they realize what Ford/GM/Jeep etc. have that people want the tech/features along with the off road performance, especially when it's only a $5k price difference and we're talking $55k+ vehicles. Even when the 6th gen comes out it seems unlikely they will put the same motor in it that the Sequoia has, which means it's probably going to get a turbo 4 hybrid, so if it's not mid-300hp no thanks. If they destroy the rear cargo area with the "hybrid hump" and non-removable seats like they did the 23' sequoia I won't buy one at any price. I bet the 23' Sequoia lost almost 25% of it's cargo space with the new design.

The Sequoia also lost the roll down back window. That would kill a lot of 4Runner sales. I don't think they will put the 3.5 tt in the 4R. Most likely a 2.4 turbo with 280 hp and 310 torque. The Pro will most likely get the hybrid option boosting the hp and torque by about 50 each.
If they used the 3.5 from the Tacoma and made it a hybrid with about 350 hp and 380 torque with a 10 sp auto that would be something I would buy. But I think Toyota has committed to the turbo in most vehicles coming.
