"How Odyssey AGM Batteries are made!"

Hey A-Team!

I just saw an interesting technical video about some of the differences between the Normal AGM Batteries, and some of the "HIGHER_END" AGMs! So since I know a lot of you are going "OFF-ROAD, and TRAILING", I thought I'd share some of what I learned about the differences between typical acid-plate batteries, and "Virgin-Lead" AGMs; "See the video link below:"

There is a big push for AGM batteries.When I was in the market for a car battery, I was deterred by the higher cost. Also the claim that AGM last two or three times longer, yet the warranty is the same as lead acid batteries.

I'm not sure how Optima's are, but I had an Odyssey AGM Battery in my XJ Cherokee back in the day before low voltage/amp LED's were invented, running a 9500 lb warn winch and 200 watt KC halogen lights, and that thing lasted over 7 years and probably longer since I sold it with the jeep. It was an amazingly good battery. Never let it run out of power, never trickle charged it.

Just slapped in a new Odyssey ODP-AGM25 tonight. The old one was only putting out 1/2 it's rated CCAs at 8 years old, and after I had run it total loss, after an alternator failure, down to 100% discharge 2 years ago. I honestly thought it was done after that trip, but it soldiered on.

I was hesitant as well b/c the warranty was the same like you said when I needed a battery for my Xterra but ended up getting the AGM from Napa anyway. We traded in the Xterra so I will not know how long the battery lasted. We got my wife an Edge but I got her 4runner.
