How often do you change YOUR oil??

Currently, my 2011 Trail is driven about 5000 miles/year and oil is changed at 12 months and the filter every two years. Oil was changed at 10k when the vehicle was newer. No discernable oil consumption. I follow Car Car Nut advice except that I've been using 5W-30 for the last 3 years.

10,000 miles. I just follow the maintenance guidelines. Lots of 500,000 Toyotas out there. Not trying to change that. Also oil has come a LONG way.

5K miles. That's as long as I'll go on oil on any of my vehicles.

Oil change, filter, lube chassis, rotate tires. Usually replace air filter too.

Every 5k or so right now on our 2 year old 4Runner. I need to do a used oil analysis to see how quickly the 0W-20 falls out of grade. That's my primary gauge on how often to change oil. My guess is the data will tell me around 5k to 6K miles.
10K with changes is too long in my opinion. Toyotas have historically had sludge issues with extended oil changes. The 6.6 QT capacity of the 4.0L V6 might help fight this issue though.
I do find it funny that Toyota says every 10K miles so as long as they're paying the bill with the first two free changes, but then wants you back every 5k miles once out of free maintenance.

We have a '99 SR5 we've owned since 2004, now crossed over the 200K mark. We've changed oil every 3K as it sees mostly City driving, amounts to twice a year with the number of miles we drive annually. Doesn't burn a drop of oil. I was actually pretty surprised to see our new 4Runner's maintenance schedule say every 10K, and decided that since we want to keep this vehicle for the foreseeable future, we just couldn't quite go with that and sleep at night, especially after seeing that video about newer cars being more prone to burning oil. I assume this takes into account all the synthetic out there...it's not that the oil is breaking down as much as gets dirty from combustion.

Manual states 10k but I just don’t trust that.

5K or less as well as air and cabin filters. I'm in a lot of dust.
Sludge hasn’t been an issue si ce they moved to 0W-20.
