I won't copypasta the entire article but for those looking for something like this for their 4runner seems simple enough to do yourself

Being 5'8 is very convenient for sleeping in these trucks. It's actually quite comfortable and roomy, even with my dog.

I'll be removing the rear seats completely, and that gives me 73" from the back of the front seat to the rear window.

I am just over 6 feet, and I am going to make the lower rear seat bolts like wing nuts so they can be easily removed, make a 2 piece stacking support that is the same height as the folded down seat. Then you can be as tall as you want.

When not sleeping, the 2 stackable supports will go together to form a small table for cooking etc.

It may not the most convenient solution, but it would be easy and very comfortable to stretch out on.

That said, what a well done solution! Maybe the only addition I would suggest would be to piano hinge the supports so when you flip the seats back, they can lay flat as well. If only I was a bit shorter!

Been contemplating doing it myself. Me and the old lady sleep in the back with an air mattress, but I am looking to get up a little bit. We always take out the rear seats.

I think he used a lot more wood than necessary for his frame (meaning, he added more weight than necessary).

This is my frame, which also probably has more wood than necessary but a whole lot less than his:

Uneven ends you see on the top picture is to allow the passenger's seat to recline further than the driver's seat (for comfort while driving).
