Team, new owner of a 1991 , 2WD, 3.0l, 4runner, 3VZE. Giving it the forum recommended tune up and std cleaning. Lots of posts on this site about how the MAF is a regular cleaning item, using CRC spray. Took apart my MAF... Here is picture. Is this plastic probe the part I want to blast with CRC spray? There is a little porthole in the base. I don't see a lot of discussion in this classic forum about MAF maintenance, or the usual YouTube helpers. Is this even a part one would clean other than the quick wipe down of dust in the inlets? Thanks, tk

its only really needed every 30k miles or so and yes its the little probe, simple but often passed over
i would also take off the tube that mounts to your intake/throttle body, and clean out the little hole on the bottom right with intake cleaner, this is the idle air control valve

Thanks Guys all points taken. Apparently the VZE 2gens have a Mass Airflow Meter, not a Mass Airflow Sensor like later models. The difference is that the later MA Sensors use heated wires, which really need that CRC spray to keep clean. This 2 gen MA Flowmeter has a vane/flapper that just needs surface cleaning. That little probe is a temperature probe to compensate air temp. Good to clean out with spray....
