How to Clean Stubborn Plastidip off of Wheels?

It looks like the PO had Plastidiped the wheels then removed it, but there are still remnants on a few parts. I tried scouring it with a green Scotch-Brite pad, but it did not work too well. Has anyone had this issue? What should I use to clean this stuff off? It is only on the rough, non-clear coated parts of the wheels, see attached photos.

Pb blaster or wd40. Just let a little sit on the Plasti dip for about 5 minutes and scrub it off.

Second the above. I dipped my Tacoma's wheels and it held up well for 2 years through all conditions, off road, snow, etc. Unfortunately, it didn't want to come off easily. I applied it plenty thick and it did 'sheet' off in a few sections, but I think the longer the stuff sits on (years) the harder it is to remove.

Douse in PB blaster, let sit, and then use a textured cloth to remove. I chose microfiber, and went through probably 3 towels. They get gunked up pretty easily and are worthless afterwards, you end up just smearing goop around. Should be pretty easy to take care of with some elbow grease. Good luck!

Goo gone worked good for overspray and may be a little less harsh than pb blaster

I don't have any experience with it, but they make a product for removing plasti-dip called "dip dissolver" from the quick google I did, it is expensive.

I used lacquer thinner. Dissolves it to nothing. Also used a wire brush wheel on a drill.

I had to use Acetone/mineral spirits...might not recommend it on the wheel if you don't plan on painting them in the future.

WD40 liberally applied. Wait 30 minutes and peel it right off.

I just took the plasti-dip off of my wife's wheels. WHAT a pain in the butt.

I used Goo-Gone in a spray bottle and it worked REALLY well. The first wheel I did without it and it took about 2 hours. The 3 other wheels I did took about 2 hours in TOTAL (including removing from the car, bringing them inside, taking the plastidip off, and re-installing the wheels). These were much more complex wheels than you've got there.

I think goo-gone will be your best bet. Spray it, wait a couple minutes, wipe the excess goo-gone off (careful, you may wipe that plastidip right off on this step =p), then rub it with some elbow grease and a microfiber cloth. It'll make quick work of what you've photo'd... MAYBE 5 minutes including the 2 minutes letting it soak.

I just did mine the other day. Brake clean, let it sit for 10 seconds and it wipes off like nothing. It is messy so make sure you have lots of rags but I was amazed at how it wiped off like nothing.

I have used the Citrus Paint Stripper a couple of times. Fine for wheels that were not great to begin with. See it bubbling off after 1 hour. This Plastidip has been on these wheels for a couple of years. The PO did not put it on thick enough. It made it a bear to pull off the fender flares.

The funny thing for me is , Plastidip is the only thing this "green" paint stripper has ever worked for.
