there should be brackets that go through the lower grille, but i bought it used and didnt have so I had some custom welded by a friend.
I cant find a photo. will post later.

i know the older design of steelcraft bullbar had 4 mounting points but i think the newer design only has 2. http://steelcraftautomotive.com/bull_bars.html

This is also what I have heard. The older units had a more robust mounting system, the newer ones are less structrually attached (Is this somehow due to a safety issue? i.e. full metal bumpers are "un-safe" in city-use)
Where exactly do they attach? I would figure it should be sturdy enough to not shake so much if it is attached to the frame properly...

Yeh, those are the same instructions I got. They just mount to the frame on two places. I may have to rig a bracket through the grill.
On another note, I am looking at a simple 2/1 lift. Daystar or the like. (what is the best, for the least $?) I am contemplating doing it myself, but I have little more than some stands and a socket set. How advisable is it for me to attempt? Does anyone have a good installation process that I could look through?
If I shouldnt undertake it, about how much $ am I looking to have to shell out for installation?
