How to power ARB fridge?

So i purchased an ARB 50qt Fridge, ARB tie downs and the transit bag. Easy part is over. Now how do i power this thing?

So basic plan of use for each of my rigs...
Permanent install in my 4th gen as a DD grocery runner and one or two night camping trips. Maybe a week long camping trip a year. Simi install in my 3rd gen when i take it offroading or camping so does not have to be a crazy battery setup.


I know some guys just plug it in and i might do that for a little bit just to see how the fridge does. I might buy a priority start and a battery brain just incase though.

A guy I follow and who is local has this setup. Why do people do duel batteries when they could go this route? Is he missing somethong critical with his setup?

Chances are you really don't need a LVD relay. I assume the ARB fridge has one built in. My Indel-B has one you set (11.5V is the "High" setting). So far I haven't drained my battery down. However, I added a Schumacher battery charger/maintainer to the mix and a 110V plug strip. So...when I'm at home the power cord dangles out the back and is plugged in. Therefore, the fridge is running off the 110V power and at the same time topping off my truck battery.

I had a few SLA 12V batteries around from an old scooter and some kids toys. I ganged them together (a pair of 18AH cells) and now have those in line too. I may add a relay though so the fridge runs off those batteries alone when parked (Isolate my starter battery) but I don't really think there's enough capacity to run more than maybe a day.

Also in the garage is an old 50W solar panel and charge controller. That may get added to the mix if I end up base camping without 110V power for a few days.
