How to tell how old my battery is?

So, My 04 T4R I have had for about 2 months now. I was cleaning the engine bay this weekend (already super clean) but I have OCD about keeping engines clean. Anywho, the battery looks almost brand new but no date anywhere on the battery?? Since when do car batteries to not have a sticker/date on them? It's a Panasonic battery. I just can't believe this would be the orginal battery? What is a an OEM battery for Toyota? There is a code/serial type number on there but not sure if that will provide the date?

Anyway to tell how old the battery is? I have only briefly looked thru the maintance records but don't recall seeing anything about the battery?

i thought i read somewhere that Panasonic was the OE battery.

did you recently buy the 4runner?
maybe the PO replaced it with a battery from the dealer.

most batteries have stickers that show the date. but ive seen a few that dont.

Sounds to me like the original battery. There are a bunch of 4th gens of all years on here still on the original battery.

The OEM battery is a Panasonic. My understanding is that if it is a Panasonic, it is the original battery as Toyota does not sell the Panasonic in the US.

I picked my 2006 up at the end of 2008, still has the OEM battery in it.

Panasonic is the original factory battery... i just changed mine in my 04 since i was getting really long cranks even though the indicator was still blue/ok.

Those Panasonic's are great batteries. Near 10 year life spans. I wish we could get them over here. :shrug:

Wow, I guess I have an original battery. I swear it looks brand new. Sounds like these things last quite a while then! I'm pushing 9 years (09/03 build date) so I think I might swap it out before winter comes to play it safe.

still running the same battery since new. If only the batteries for my laptop and/or 360 controller lasted as long as the battery in my truck
