Hub Conversion

Hey thanks for the help on the last one guys!!! I'll have to try that, I was thinking TPS but wasn't sure if it was a common problem that was an easy 5 minute fix or what. My next question is, I was told that all I have to do to convert my front hubs to a manual set up, is to go and buy a set of Warn's and slap them on!!! Please tell me this is true, or not far from the truth!!! Thanks guys!!!

No Answer but I was considering doing the same

I was thinking of going the manual hub way as well. So if anyone has done it already I'd like to hear about it.

Here's my reason for wanting to put in the manual hubs.

From what I understand the front wheels are engaged at the differential with the automatic "shift on the fly" setup. This means that the front axle is always turning. There are two downsides to this. The joints in the axles will wear out sooner and your mileage will be effected slightly or more if the parts are already wearing out.

If it's strictly a DD the Warn's are OK.

If you wheel your truck go with stock (Aisin) hubs, they're much better.

Just make sure you get the correct ones, the IFS (86+) have a different spline count than the 85- SFA hubs (although they look the same).
