what would you do if you owned a 2006 4wd sport edition 4runner and drove 25k-30k miles a year and needed a truck that was great on-road and off-road?

the off-road is serious. i go to a very remote area of south carolina several times a year where the terrain is wet, muddy, rocky and sticky.

i'm looking to modify my 4runner.

what do ya'll think?

What do you mean by "hybrid"?? Do you mean what off-road modifications to do??

Please post your question in ONE section. Thanks.

yes, i mean off-road modifications. sorry about the dual posting, i'm kinda new here. i do respect your postings quite a bit, thai. i've read them a lot.

My recommendations: bigger 265/70/17 (32") BFG AT KO tires and a pair of rock sliders. You may want to invest in a more sturdy transfer case skidplate (teotwaki is making one). Otherwise, you should be good to go.

Good luck.

BTW, i noticed that you said 2006 is different from 2003-2005 in terms of where the rock sliders attach to...what changed??

i'm not sure what changed. ken from hanna quality is the one who informed me that the under carriage was different from '05 to '06.
