Had this code pop up. Previous owner replaced the tc and the solonoid in 2011 so I didnt think it could be them. My thoughts were it was either a clogged or defective valve body, low fluid, or dirty fluid.
I decided to change the fluid by doing drain and refills. Fluid was dark. It didnt smell burnt but definitely was dirty. After 3 drains check engine light has not come back on. So happy!
