Alright.....so I F@cked up! I was looking at a crapload of for sale ads on Ebay last week, all were AISIN parts for the Timing belt kit....found this kit...I swear on my life I thought it was Aisin parts as well....and well.......IT WASN'T!!!

Now I've got these parts....shipped to me pretty quick I might add. The seller is a Top Rated Seller with 100% Positive Reviews.....

Does anybody have experience with this kit??? Should I keep it?? Should I get an OEM Belt??? :redbrick:

I have never heard of Kabuki, nor does that water pump look to fit the 3.4 if the picture on the box depicts what is inside.

Contact the seller, see if they will take it back, lose some $ for shipping and a restocking fee, and buy the Aisin TKT-005 or TKT-025, where the latter includes the tensioner.

I agree

If you can find info saying that brand waterpump is good then keep it, the engine is non interference so if the belt goes its only an inconvience, and if the waterpump is reliable then you have nothing to worry about.

Not sure about the water pump....the kit is supposed to be for the 3.4L for both the Taco and the 4Runner......CRAP! I'll message the seller.....

Here's a pic of the actual water pump...it was packaged in a bag....so didn't want to take it out...for fear of not being able to return it if I end up doing so....

Thanks guys for all the replies. I looked at the ad I bought the item through again, and it would seem as though I purchased a kit that was $93.49. The shipping..........$65.85! It would cost me more to ship it back out, and buy a new kit from an Aisin Supplier!

I think I'll try this kit out....I've already messaged the seller regarding the warranty on these parts, however I'm not too hopeful. :(

Lesson learned.......DON'T ORDER PARTS FROM EBAY WHEN IT'S LATE AND YOU'RE TIRED!

Water pump in the bag looks like the correct one.

As in it will fit, but it looks as though it has the groove in the mating flange and no gasket--the original style that Toyota abandoned after a few years. That means instead of a metal/rubber gasket you will learn the joys of FIPG and the tendency to leak. I hope I'm wrong. Is there a gasket??

You are paying extra for red boxes. Kits like aircabinman's are the same parts from the same manufacturers that made the factory original pieces. Just stay away from the Kabuki's that are out there. I compared what I put in to what I took out and they were identical (other than the upgrade to the new WP with the gasket).
