I might ditch the T4R

Eibach coil springs!

IDK if I would have picked a BMW turbo motor though.

If theres one thing I've learned in life, when confronted with slick promotional marketing videos, made to look like TV journalism, to "invest" to be one of the first adopters of an unproven, unknown product... you jump in with both feet and open pockets!

This looks like a Land Rover version of those Year One Camaros and Chevelles, where you can buy all new parts to build the entire car.

I think I would've tried harder to come up with a name that wouldn't be called the 'Grenader'...

If Toyota could just somehow adapt the 70 series being sold elsewhere in the world for the US market then it would be game over for everyone else.

Likelihood of that being sold in US? While I've always like the look of a Defender, the reality of one is another story. I'm not sure I would take a notoriously unreliable vehicle and pair it with a notoriously expensive to maintain vehicle and call it good. But hey, more power to them.

-No way in hell that will be street legal in the US
-If it's even built, it'll be made in the UK so expect catastrophic quality control
-More likely than not the company will fold and they will take investor money and deposits and run
-nothing keeping established car companies from building "no nonsense" 4x4s, which they do for the international market. Seems that the American market doesn't want them since the rest of the third world is lousy with them

Everything's a remix. Looks like another LR Defender derivative like the Santana.

As a former D90 and D110 owner for over a dozen years, I love the idea. Unfortunately, these beasts are not financially practical for most folks in the States. If you have disposable income, sure. When I did as a single guy, it was fun but expensive and had nothing better to do with my money. So I thought.

Defenders are very capable offroad in stock form. But parts and accessories were always expensive and limited in quantity and quality. I guess that's the same for the 4R, but at least most parts and accessories are available Stateside and no need to spend more money on import shipping from overseas. I hated buying something from overseas, without knowing first-hand what the quality was. It is a lot easier when the vehicle, parts, and aftermarket accessories are in-country.

I have worked with UK Engineers and had UK Engineers work for me. No thank you. Ford has almost NEVER made money in the UK. The place was run by freak'n imbeciles.

There are relaxed requirements for companies that make 200 or less vehicles a year in the US and Maybe other places.

I wonder how many of those $200,000 Toyota FJ's Restored Land Cruisers they are actually selling.

These might be mainly for the Middle Eastern Market?

If you're referring to Icon's restomods, they have a full plate.

I've seen some of their TLC4x4 work here in the Bay Area and it is sweet.

Also not something I'd drive in the lawless Nation State of California.
