I need better mudflaps!

I recently purchased a 2021 Venture model, I am running 265/70/75 BFG KO2's. I went out to do some rabbit hunting this past weekend in Craig, CO, and when I washed my truck, I realized there are a lot of tiny little chips and scratches at the back of the rear doors, right where the body swells out. My guess is these are caused by driving on dirt roads, and the front tires throwing small rocks, sand, etc. back.
First off, anyone else seeing this issue? Second, whats a good aftermarket mudflap that might prevent some of this. My fear is after several years of hunting trips and family camping trips and miles and miles of dirt road travel, its going to look terrible.

Not going to lie, I removed my front mudflaps to make clearance for my tires, I have wheel spacers which make my tires stick out beyond the edge of the body, I’ve been driving Colorado and Wyoming fire roads for seven of the eight years I’ve owned this thing, and I have never noticed a lot of tiny rock chips.

maybe keep it in the garage if you are worried about rock chips and scratches. Seriously, you haven't even seen the carnage that a walmart parking lot will do to our quarter panels and doors.

It is the same thing on at least Taco XRunners. (Just looked... All Tacos)
Granted, it was run at high speeds, tracked, etc.

I had literal holes worn through the front side of the "flares" around the rear wheels. I have replaced them, but the second set is worn, and when I had the front bumper replaced, they misted the white areas on the rear flares.
(A truck tire tread smashed the front plastic up...)

I had the same thing with my Taco before I got my 4Runner. The stock running boards help prevent that - and I imagine sliders (especially those with tread) would as well. That's why I've been so reluctant to remove them.

The bottom of my 4runner looks sandblasted from all the desert roads I run on. It took all the paint off the bottom of the rear shocks. My running boards keep the sides chip free. The bottom of the running boards look sandblasted though.

Yep, got lots of rock chips. They put tons of red cinder on the roads during the winter and I have a half mile of gravel road to get to pavement. I just live with it. Can't even keep the truck clean in Central Oregon. You might try a clear film. Then there's always spray on bedliner. HEH! Running boards will work but I found that they got the back of my pants dirty on my '13 and my gen 4's.

I don’t mean to come across like a pansy, it’s just that I run a lot of dirt roads and off pavement hunting and fishing. This is a brand new rig and I hope to have it for the next 200k miles or more. This was my very first trip with it and I guess my concern is what is it going to look like after thousands of miles of this...

OP you are correct that area on the rear wheel flare takes a ton of abuse if you run dirt roads. Mine looks shot gun blasted after 4 years with a lot of dirt.

I understand your concern and you ain't a pansy. At least the plastic flairs won't rust and they can be masked, sanded and repainted.

Mine looks shotgun blasted in just over a year. Hey battle scars. LOL!

Thanks for the feedback. I might try a set of rokblox XL flaps. Those look like they extend a little and might help. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I removed my Toyota ones. Don’t like how they cut into the paint. I put the Rockbloz mudflaps on. Much nicer and still protect. I went with the regular size. Also between having the mudflaps and my Tyger side bars both of them prevent rock chips on my Pro.

Bigger mud flaps aren't going to help you much, you need paint protection film.

I have paint protection on my corvette. That’s what he needs just in that area. But depending on what side steps you go with between them and the Rockbloz mudflaps it will protect that area pretty good. I here once and a while rocks hitting my side steps but no nicks in the paint.

A lot of rock chips on from doors

I was wondering if some one could help me to diagnose this problem. I have 2021 4Runner TRD off-road venture package. I was washing it today and noticed a lot of rock chips on the driver and passenger doors. Here is the picture. This truck was on 4-5 road trips which involved a lot of gravel road driving. Do you think these running boards are reflecting small stone towards the body?
