so i have a 02 4runner sport edition 140k 4wd. i have a stock set up and would like to upgrade my shocks without neceserally lifting it, i like how comfortable it rides on freeway and for the off roading i do i dont need much more cleareance.

i purchased a set of 5100 biltien front shocks and 5125's for the rear. the bundle was for a Tacoma. when i recieved them i took them to a shop to install them and they told me they were the wrong shocks. the front ones were 3 in longer. and the reaers were also long with the need of a stud coversion kit.

im trying to return them or exchange them with (downsouth motorsports in San Diego CA.)

SO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT SHOCK TO BUY.

WHATS THE BEST ON/OFF-ROAD SHOCK SET UP FOR THE FRONT???
CAN I USE 5100'S WITHOUT HAVING A LIFT?

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

QUICK QUESTION WHY IS IT THAT MOST MECHANICS AND TIRE SHOPS DONT KNOW CRAP ABOUT RUNNERS???

5125s work with the adapter you mentioned, 5150s have the stud like the stock shocks. Most mechanics don't know much about 4runners as offroad cars because they are not a common vehicle to build. Also on a purely mechanical aspect they never break down so how would they? :) and I believe you can't run extended shocks without bigger springs and some sort of lift.

what about the front? i cant figure out what to do with the front?

recommend something please. should i just replace it with a bilstien HD OME and call it a day?

CAN I USE 5100's for the front? or is the 5100 only for lift?
