Just for looks on the 4Runner. They're copying 3 of the 5 LED off the Raptor which must have the 5 lights by law because of how wide it is.

EDIT: Vehicles over 80 inches wide need them along with some lights in the rear. A 4Runner with +3.5 LT kit would fall in this category, but not sure if it's enforced on aftermarket modifications.

And you don't need DOT inspection on your 4runner.

No, and ironically it's because of the FRONT and REAR track width, most duallys just have that because of their wide asses. Raptors are wide in front and in back like a dually.

They don't even fit in half of the parking spaces in the Bay Area.

It's for aesthetics. For me, every 4Runner front end looks the same so I like making my front end stand out and look different. Never have I thought, oh man my 4Runner looks like a Raptor now lol. To each their own

I like it though, just not enough to replace my light bar that resides in the same location (which serves a very special purpose to people who cut me off).

Sure did. The Pelfreybilt bumper was the only aluminum winch bumper available at the time and it required me to retrofit 14+ headlights as part of the install. Needed somewhere to mount my winch and some extra protection when I smash into rocks. I actually like the looks of pre facelift 4runners better but wanted to keep front end weight lower so it made sense to me. :shrug:

Actually its worse. They are KNOCKOFF TRD Pros (FN Wheels). I didn't go OEM because the FN wheels were 8 inches wide which worked better for the wider tires Im running.

Raptors are 7” wider than a standard F150 (without the mirrors). They’re within about 3/8” of the width of an H1 Hummer (without the mirrors) and actually have a 2” wider track. Used to scare the shit outta me when I went down to t Bay Area.
