Ice Build Up Undercarage And Running Boards

So during the day the snow on the roads turns to slush and sprays up under everywhere. i cant remove the running boards right now because they are full of ice that wont break loose. it doesn't get warm enough during the days to melt anything off. it just keeps building up.
what do you guys think would work to get this ice off and turn my heavy tank back into a 4Runner?

When i say ice is everywhere, it has filled in just about every crack around the wheel wells, skid plate, running boards, and even the rear bumper has ice packed it in. IT JUST GETTING WORSE!

BTW its 13 deg outside and never gets above 35 during the day, when it get close its only for an hour or so then the temp drops again.

Find a mall with an indoor parking or an office building with indoor parking to park it inside for a while.

When you get back to it, just kick the melting ice off or scrape it off with windshield ice scraper.

Make sure to dry off all the rubber door seals and windows, it's not a bad idea to apply a thin layer of silicon grease to the rubber seals so that the remaining water or whatever melting ice doesn't freeze your door shut as soon as you go back into the freezing air.

Applying a silicon grease to the plastic parts like inside the wheel wells, under the running boards etc...helps mine from collecting the ice. A spray can make that pretty easy. But it needs to be reapplied.

My office building has a hand wash service. Maybe you can find one of those. You park your car, and have it washed. The ice will melt and fall off. Then they park it again, still indoors. Better than a regular car wash because you leave with a wet car that freezes up all the doors and locks. All this while your girlfriend think how amazing you are for bringing her shopping for the day...meanwhile your car is getting spa treatment too....LOL.

Still make sure to dry it and apply that silicon to the rubber door seals or they risk freezing.

As long as you don't get your doors frozen shut, I used to take my rig while in Montana to the u-wash that had heated water and blast the chunks off the underside.

good advice, although the closest mall or parking garage that i know of is in salt Lake City and that is about 4 hours away from me. (im out in the country of Idaho)- not that Idaho is its own country

Ill do this when it warms up a little bit. it hasn't been around 32 deg so i dont want to add to the problem of more ice in smaller tighter places forced by the water spray.

i dont have a torch, will lighting a fire with some sticks or trash then driving over it work? haha!

our small town doesn't have the luxury of a heated pressure washer station.

Well thanks for your replys, what i ended up doing was parking the worst side (pass side) in the sun on the end of a parking lot along the street where it would get full contact by the sun for an hour while i was in class when i came back i had found this!!! after that 1st pic i started to hack and kick and knock the rest off. this is only half of it. i got the other half off a few days b4. (about the time i started this thread) there is a lot more than what i took pictures of

Now its time to spray WD-40 all over the place like i usually do i still have some smashed up in the skid plate.
