Icon coilovers (reg or extended travel) with spc uca

Tried calling icon Wednesday and today with no luck.

Trying to figure out if I should go extended travel or normal. I’ve read with aftermarket uca you should go extended but spc aren’t icons uca and are different design (uni ball vs not)

Just need recommendations so I can order

Anyone have this setup? What did you go with?

I pulled the trigger on Icon front extended travel yesterday with JBA Offroad STD high Caster UCAs. Extended gives you more travel/distance. From a price point, I considered the SPC but decided JBA based on last couple years of good feedback and customer service. Purchased last night and received order confirmations instantly with shipment tracking # this morning so less than 12 hours turnaround! I considered Camburg as well which is only about $100 more.

I just ordered an Icon Stage 2 with SPC uca's from Metaltech for 20% off. I can't wait till it arrives. And, the savings payed the majority of a pair of sliders.

get the extended travel and pony up a few extra bucks for a quality set of ICON, Camburg, or other UCAs. do it right, do it once.
 
not sure why anyone would be buying the Icon lift package and not buying their CO's. I too just took advantage of Metal Tech's BF deal and got the entire stage 2, with their delta UCA's with 20% off.
 
SPC will be fine. Bling is nice to look at, but the SPC kit is well made for the money. JBA is great too, but I am concerned with their design limiting my tire size without taking my tires out beyond the fenders with spacers or backspacing.

SPC/Light Racing had a run of epic failures and, consequently, a number of rapid-fire redesigns and multiple bushing revisions in the past few years. they were reportedly very good about warranty, customer service, and furnishing replacements but, oof, it was not a good situation for anyone involved. i know that many have run them without issue, but they're cheaper for a reason. it's all documented here on the forum.

ICON and Camburg et al. are not bling. no one is recommending the billet arms. billet is bling.

Yep I am one that runs SPC without any issue. I like them because they are ghost quiet and have killer adjustability. Same could not be said about the ICON tubular UCA I had.

To the OP...I run the ICON ET CO's and SPC UCA and it's been great for over 20K miles now.

Ok, bling may have been too aggressive. But everything that I have seen from SPC shows that their latest offering is solid.
 
talked to Chris from MetalTech - fun chat.

Doesnt matter with UCA's as long as they are aftermarket you can run extended (for anyone looking at this in the future).

went extended icons and keeping my spc's. No complaints - why change it.
