Icon s2 kit install q

Anyone else running the Icon S2 kit (dual front shocks)? Looking for input/advice on where to mount the passenger side remote reservoir. The shop that did the install, zip-tied it to the main coil over reservoir because "the washer bottle was in the way." In reality, once I pulled the washer bottle, there just wasn't anywhere that seemed obvious to mount the provided bracket.

Unfortunately, when I called Icon, I got a disappointing response: "Uh...yea...we're working on a good location for that, and each truck is different, so keep trying - you'll find somewhere that works...." Nice, after spending that much money for a "complete kit" :yuck:

Very rare setup. doubt you will get much of a response. so yea, you have to weld something to the frame typically with that much stuff to work around.

I know most of the long travel stuff just come with weld on tabs for the remote res because it is impossible to know what else you might have going on... with a bypass or whatever.

We used a bolt chased from the inside of the frame to mount both his limit strap and reservoir. (Different holes of course) There is some plastic plugs in the web of the frame that can be popped out. We drilled holes in the web of the frame and chased a bolt from the removed plastic cap with some fishing line pulling the thread end of the bolt through the hole. I have noted on my newer 5th gen there is also some pre threaded holes you may or may not have. The bolt chasing option worked well... keep in mind the reservoir hose is not really long enough to go to the frame where the bolt it at so you may need to make a plate bracket that is held by both bolts previously mentioned that what he ended up mounting...

I think there's a few possibilities. First is to eliminate one of the remote reservoirs. The other is to put a longer hose on one or both and remote mount them in the engine bay like the race trucks typically do. This is how they're located on "monica" Canguro's stock class LC200.

Dayum!! Very nice

My shop installed both in the front. The triangular mount is installed with the bolt in the forward position on part of the chassis.

Edit: washer reservoir removed

THANK YOU!!! If I'm reading this correctly, your shop either used an existing hole in the chassis or drilled a new one? I was working on a fabricated mount to extend the supplied mount to a similar location.

Yes, it was attached to the painted part and there are factory holes present.

For those of you that have the Icon S2 Secondary Shocks how much of a difference is there in the ride?

Ran the white rim in one day and blew a front ADS shock seal. Installed S2 with ADS coilovers and icon bypass, ran white rim again in one day, slight difference but only felt in cornering and big dips. When I did the Maze all the way out to Millard in one day, that is when I first noticed a large improvement in both compression and rebound control over an extended period of time. I feel the biggest difference in the increased control rebound/compression on bigger hits (dips, whoops) after a couple hours of fast driving. If I were just hitting mild trails like white rim, even fast pace, not worth the money.
