ignition coils

are the boots sold separately from the coils? i have a couple cracked ones. also, what has everyone done as far as replacing the coils? OE, aftermarket?

AFAIK, Toyota does not sell them. However, Denso definitely does.(p/n 671-6248). I recently did mine at 17 years and 170k (all factory coils.) I would only buy a Denso replacement, from whatever source had it cheapest. (p/n Denso #673-1201)

The Durk responded at the same time I did...same info I think...

I used these two Denso parts when I replaced all six boots and ignition wires. I did not replace coils - no issues at 240,000 miles......

If I were to replace a coil, I would use this Denso part which comes with the boot.....compare price on Amazon...

no issues with coils, just boots. will try to find them.

The Durk responded at the same time I did...same info I think...

I used these two Denso parts when I replaced all six boots and ignition wires. I did not replace coils - no issues at 240,000 miles......

Our V6 has only THREE coil boots and THREE wires.

Unlike FIATs, Hyundais and Audis--and many others, but I personally am sure on those--our Denso coils tend to outlive the trucks they are in.

Agree - the three boots that are on the bottom of the coils can be purchased as a set (Denso #6716248) or they come with the coils if purchased new. The other three boots for the waste spark side are molded as part of the ignition wire set (Denso #6716182).

bought the boots. gotta replace plugs so i'll replace the boots then. got them on ebay for $25 shipped.

When I bought my Bosch Preimum wire set I swear the coil boots came with.
