well the people pulled a no show. and didnt bother letting me know. awesome.

but i'll keep listing the car til it sells.
and i dont have a 4runner picked out because i need the down payment from selling the car to buy one. but i know i want a 3rd gen.

and they're every where so i shouldnt have trouble finding one once i have the cash
 
part of idaho?, theres a nice 5 speed at a lot just north of spokane ive been eyeballing, old lady keeps saying she might want to buy it, that would be torture especially if it gots the locker
 
What part of idaho ya'll in? Honestly I'd try to buy from a private seller, dealers rob you blind. But best of luck on joining the cool kids club!
 
Patience will lead to a good buy. Just sold my old beater yesterday. Bought the Runner a little before then, but I waited over a year to find the Runner. GL!
 
Patience is a virtue. a lesson i learned when i bought my tacoma a few years back. and dealers rob you blind a lesson i learned buying my cobalt.

So I'm going to take my time and be super picky with my runner purchase. I want service records, under 200k miles, no serious rust or body damage, and i really dont want to pay over 7500 unless its super clean. and has to be a third gen.

oh and i live in boise idaho
 
I agree with patience being the virtue. I looked and looked for quite some time and actually stopped for awhile but still wanted one. Then one day I went online and did a few searches and there she was! She was at a dealership but that didn't scare me because I've worked at them and know what their game is. I was on a business trip and came back to town a day early, went to the dealership, test drove, bartered the hell out of the Sales Manager and drove her home that night! One thing though, cash talks if you have the option.

Darn, Spokane is only 6 hrs drive away from me! If only I was in a position to buy... its hard to leverage a decent deal out of a dealer without cash or alot of patience.....

I spent almost a year looking for a 5spd, with the right miles(KM), records, and maintenance but I settled on an auto. I just couldn't find a 5spd that wasn't beaten or was grotesquely over priced. I looked all over the Western USA, and CDN west coast-- the prices out of California, AZ, NV weren't much better than Canada, at least not good enough to cover shipping... The 4runner I have is in showroom condition and the info from Toyota told me it had been somewhat maintained. The only thing I didn't get was the 5spd. It had roughly 120K miles (Spring 2012) with a recent TB replacement and new brakes! $7500... not bad. Considering I got $3300 for the Chev Suburban, I think I made a reasonable painless transition to my 4Runner! One thing I found was, the average 4runner I looked at, had significantly higher mileage in the US, as opposed to the CDN vehicles...(I also ran it 2wd 4Runners!?!? They weren't sold in CA) This is probably due to the higher costs of vehicle ownership in CA i.e. 20%-40% higher gas prices, vehicle prices, expensive parts etc etc... just my WAG!

I've slowly started... anti-rust, grille mod, tranny cooler/ gauge, tires rims, maintenance items... I'm waiting for some front end parts as we speak and in the Spring I plan on the Tundra Brake mod, rear springs and or air bags (I tow a sportboat) and maybe exhaust and possibly CAI... I'm considering improving my Tranny cooling setup as well...

I would think that was a forum members at one point. I may be wrong but noticed the cb antenna holder on the back. I know they are now sold by a 'company' when it was a forum member who sold them originally I believe.

Worth a shot...see if someone recognizes it and let you know if there were any major issues when trading it in.

I just test drove it. And its pretty damn cool, but i get a bad vibe. the underside looks great. little to no rust and its been coated. however the truck pulls to the left when driving, the fog lights dont work, the blinkers hyper blink, and its supercharged but not from the factory. I've had bad luck in the past with buying pre-modded vehicles so i think i'm going to try to find something closer to stock. then turning it into my vision.
 
Props for sticking to your guns. I know if it was me test driving a beast like that, I'd have the buy bug hardcore, even if it seems sketch.
 
The hyper blink is due to the resistance of the LED blinkers in the ODL bumper. That's no biggie and can be easily fixed
 
The pull to one side is it needing an alignment. The fog lights not working, well, shit, after 1 time mudding, my hellas crapped out. I just fix them to pass inspection and they crap out again a month down the road.
