My front driveshaft separated when I removed my front diff Friday, and I didn't make match marks as I didn't anticipate the front shaft separating from the stub that connects to transfer case. Can someone please tell me if the zerks on the front are inline with the zerks on the back, or if they are offset 180 degrees front and back. I would be much obliged as I don't want to have to take it back off and rotate the two pieces 180 degrees. THANK YOU!

I don't think that it's important to match the orientation of the front drive shaft to the rear one. If both are assembled properly, they will both be balanced.
It's much more important to reassemble the two pieces of the front drive shaft so that the two pieces are in the same position relative to each other.

I think he was referring to the front and back halves of the front drive shaft. Since the front and rear axles will rotate at different speeds, every time you make a turn, the drive shafts will never stay aligned together. :biggrin1:
You're probably right, but the way that he asked his original question made it sound like he was asking whether the zerks on the front shaft line up with those on the rear.
He asked if the zerks (plural) on the front line up with the zerks (again plural) on the back. Since each shaft only has two (not counting the slip yoke) I thought he may be overthinking it and trying to use the position of the rear zerks to determine how he is supposed to align the front.
I wasn't trying to be an ass, I just though he might have been overthinking it and was trying to be helpful.
