I finally joined the T4R club 10 days ago! I have posted some specific question in the 4th gen forum, but thought I would make a formal introduction here!
This story begins with my old car, a 2002 Lexus GS 430. Great vehicle...but. (It's always that "but" isn't it?) The "but" was that any form of inclement weather rendered the car...challenging
I loved the Lexus quality and durability. It was quick and composed for such a big car and even got reasonable mileage for what it was. However, that sick feeling of being stuck by 1-2inchs of snow overshadowed my love for the car...So, I started shopping for and AWD replacement (and yes, I know snow tires would have made a big difference, but the weather is so wacky around here I was tired of chancing it).
Very early on, the 4-Runner intrigued me and it stayed on my list. Fueled mainly by the good folks here on T4R, I built my knowledge base of the 4th gen 4-runners up to the point where I knew more than the salesmen selling them. I decided that Shadow Mica was my primary color choice and I originally wanted a Sports Edition (mainly due to cost). I was positive that I would have to travel hundreds of miles to find my ideal ride, until I I found a deal locally I couldn't pass up...

It is a 2006 V6 4x4 Limited. It was a one owner, local trade, Toyota Cert. 75k.

I love it. More than a week later, I still grin when I see it. The color is perfect for me, though I know it will take more maintainence than the silver of my last 2 cars. I appreciate the features the Limited offers and I am glad I stretched my budget that last little bit to get it.
In the past week I have washed, detailed the interior, started mileage counting (20-21 MPG 70/30 mixed, happy), and gotten center-highed. Yup...stuck my brand new used truck. Still grinning
I am not expecting to go crazy with off-road mods, but I definitely like making my cars my own.
