In the market for a 2012 4Runner...need to know

I think I am about to become a first time Toyota owner. I have done the research and am going to take the plunge on a 4Runner Limited with a third row of seats. I am looking at Certified Used Vehicles and did a search on toyotacertified.com and found a few good ones in my area.

2012 $37,000 with approx 25k miles
2013 $39,000 with approx 11k miles

There are others with the options I want; these are just two examples that fall in the middle of the range. I have never purchased a Certified Used Vehicle before.

My question is will the dealers move on these prices? This this the wrong time of the month to be buying a vehicle....but I am curious. How much room for negotiation is there?

i purchased a trail model with KDSS for a couple thousand less then the trucks you listed and it was brand new

You can buy brand new for those prices. I realize that used 4Runners are selling for those kinds of prices - doesn't mean its smart to pay it....

I paid $36.6K total for my brand new 2012 SR5 4x4 w/ 3rd row seats. Little bit different situation for me since I bought it through a military dealership and didn't pay taxes or anything.

Just some food for thought.

At this time of the year here's no reason to buy used. The new ones can be had for 10% off msrp. I just picked up my 2nd 5th gen and the 10% was consistent with both.

12 limited 43,6xx for 39,205 bought new august 11 2012

14 sr5 37,200 msrp for 33,488 bought new this past Monday.

Used prices are so close there's no reason to pay a couple thousand less for a used one with 30k+ miles on it.

Buy new and break her in yourself.

Be sure to initiate your new 4r by running a Prius off the road.
