In the middle of 63" Chevy Spring Swap

Anyone have suggestions for what make, model, and length shocks to go with in the rear to replace the originals? On a 86 4runner.

Well if your using the stock mounts, youll want shocks made for about a 3"lift.

Are you re using the stock u bolt plate/lower shock mount or did you make new mounts?

Best way to tell is to flex the truck out and measure full stuff and bump.

I used Monroe shocks found on latemodel ford f250s

Like said above, get it all together first so you can measure.
Are you doing a u-bolt flip too? that will affect length.
You will probably find you need to make new top mounts as well

I've currently got everything back together except the shocks are hanging b/c I haven't connected the u-bolts. I'd like to do a u-bolt flip but haven't decided on a particular kit, and also know I'd have to replace the shock mounts at the same time. I really wish I could drive one with the /\ shock setup to compare how it handles on a daily drive.

If I go ahead with the U bolt flip, what is the outer diameter of the stock toyota rear axle in 86? I'm guessing 2.5 or 3 inches.
