Indiana 4runner owners?

Found a prospect 4runner near me and am awaiting pictures of the undercarriage from the sales team. Should I be concerned with rust from a 10 year old 4runner from Indiana? It's been registered in Terra Haute and Richmond IN. Any insight would be appreciated.

Naw, they really do not up-keep the roads here. I'd be more concerned with alignment due to the crappy pot-holes. Other than that, don't worry about rust.

It snows in both places and I'm sure they use some form of salt, so yes, rust on frame would be something to look into.

Thanks for the input. Now I'm anxiously awaiting pictures. I hate it when dealers list cars for sale and don't even have them ready for sale, or in this case don't even have them on the lot in the same state!

I live in Indiana and can tell you that if a frame isn't washed or taken care of, it will absolutely have some rust. I'd for sure wait for some good photos before making that call.

Anybody trade their 2013 silver trail in at Kelly Auto in Fort Wayne IN? It looks to be in good condition, again waiting for undercarriage pics, but I have a couple of concerns about rust at the bottom of the doors on the passenger side. See pics
I'm going to ask for good still shots as those were captured on a video the salesman sent. It looks like someone has tried to preserve it as I think I can see fluid film residue seeping from the holes on the bottom of the doors and hatch.

That frame rust looks about typical from what I can see. The body rust is a bit more than I would expect. I have a 2015 and don't have any rust like that on any of my doors or back hatch.

I would say it all depends on how long you plan to keep it. That door rust would be difficult to fix and if that is what you can see, there may be more you can't. The frame rust will only get worse. You could try and clean it up and coat it with something to slow it down, but that is a constant battle.
