Inner tie rods bad?

I'm sorry to hear you're not happy with the work you paid a "good" shop to do- that's always frustrating.
I'm chasing the same issue at the moment.
After replacing my completely worn FSB and rack bushings, I saw I had play in my ITRE when I was back-and-forth'ing the wheel. I decided to do new OTRE's and LBJ's while I was at it.
When I was breaking the ITRE's loose from the rack, I realized the play- I THOUGHT I saw in the ITRE- was actually the rack loose in the housing. I used the tension adjuster to add pressure to the rack, but I have a feeling that isn't a proper fix.
I'll be watching this, as I'm betting our issues have the same solution.

Yeah it's no good! I'm hoping that the itre's will change that. But I will be calling them to get in to see them and see what they have to say. Hopefully they decide to stand by their work and fix the issue. But we will see

Safari is out of business from what I know and they're racks where no different than any other reman.

I thought there was a member who recently bought a safari rack? Maybe I'm mistaken.

So Toyota dealer for a steering rack is the best option then?

Rockauto has a rack thats new and not rebuilt. There were actually a thread where they compared the rockauto rack with the saffari which turned out to be the same, only rockauto had it cheaper. I had the rockauto rack installed and I think its worth it. It was 2 years ago and my itres are starting to go just now, rack is solid though.
