What bothers me the most about this is that one person, through sheer ignorance ,ruins or make it very difficult for all the other lives involved. I feel that anyone learning to drive should have to drive around for the first year on a small under powered motorcycle. This will make you much more aware of your surroundings. As much as I love my cars and love to drive, it is the most dangerous thing I do on a daily basis.

It really is. That's why it pays to be a defensive driver, super aware, and predicting anything that can and probably will happen. That's something you really learn on the Autobahn. Stuff happens way faster at 145 mph versus 70mph here.

The funny thing is that it probably could have driven away if it hadn't lost that wheel... A lot of people around here are just too important for "laws" or "red lights" so they just choose to ignore them and I see at least one or two wrecks every day.

The flickers on the 4runner are probably reflections of the fire on the other car. Did anyone notice what looks like a body flying out of the pickup truck bed and bouncing off both cars at the intersection? Looks like a child or small human...

Yeah that was on 7th St and Northern in phoenix. It's down the street from my works corporate office and they showed this a couple months ago in a safety meeting. Not sure when it happened but the first thing I saw was a 3rd Gen too! Looks like it held up pretty well though! For as fast as that dude was going!

Your right that looks like a kid in a car seat

After enlarging the image it does indeed look like a car seat with a kid strapped in. It also looks like a side rear airbag in the truck deployed but it could be something else that is white floating around in the back of the truck.

According to the info included with the video, there were no serious injuries. So I'm guessing it wasn't a child that flew out of the back of the pickup. Or if it was, the kid is tough as hell...
