Install diff drop/sway bar relocation brackets for 3" lift?

Just ordered the 3" toytec lift off the page. Ended up saving some money for now and got the super flex springs and spacer kit. No shocks. This kit doesn't come with a diff drop or sway bar relocation kit. Should I buy these separate? I hear mixed reviews about lowering the diff. Thanks

Shouldn't need either that said you will need to watch your cv boots for leaks after lifting !

I too was in your situation, wondering if I really need them. After I installed my 3" toytec ultimate lift with the diff drop and sway bar relocate kit, I couldn't see feeling good about the install if I didn't. You will find plenty of people that say you don't need them, but my eyes told me a different story. I think they are very much needed for the drive parts to wear properly. What's that saying? Do it right and only cry once....

Some will say it’s not needed, but the parts are cheap and the install is super easy. Just do it once and forget about it.

I was also in that position
I decided that since my off-road will be very limited I didn’t have a problem erring on the side of caution since I don’t have time to be replacing CV axles a lot
I got the toytec diff drop and front sway bar relocation brackets and removed my rear sway bar and I’ve had no issues whatsoever with the ride

A late response...

But.... rear sway removal is beneficial off-road in that it provides additional rear suspension articulation. The safety aspect will vary depending on ride height, track width (how far your wheels are spaced out from factory spec), spring rate and shock valving/length etc.

I have both sways removed and I love how it rides, but again.. results will vary and legality can vary between states. Here in WA, I just need to have the ability to pass a swerve test with cones, the anti-sway device is not mandatory

The 1" spacer diff drop only lowers the diff by only about 0.3" due to the location of the spacers in relation to where the clam sits on the support arms. Then you may need spacers for your skidplate which will lower it and possibly be at a different level than the rest. So for up to about 3.25", they're not required. Any lift will cause the CV boots to seep some grease. It's best to swap out the OEM clamps for some specifically designed skinny CV worm clamps. Just search FJ CV worm clamps on eBay - I have these and work perfectly. Just torque them to the recommended in-lbs torque stamped on the band.
