Interesting - KDSS is the same license tech used by Mclaren supercars

That is cool.

Also good to know I might be able to take my 4runner to a Mclaren dealer for service! I'm sure it's a bargain.

the nissan uses a system more similar to X-REAS

(and for that matter, PCC on the mclaren is a pretty different setup from KDSS)

Same licensed tech from the same guy involving hydraulic cylinders, just tied left right instead of front/rear to get the same general effect.

more significantly attached to the shock instead of a sway bar and on both sides (in fact i think the mclaren doesn't even use sway bars), similar to how x-reas does it

they are basically licensing the use of the ram and accumulator, the setup and how KDSS works is very different from the mclaren (and very different from Nissan HBMC)

Eh, to me just a new iteration on the same thing, since Toyota probably got exclusive access.

In the Nissan they had to work around that, and put it in the shocks (inferior in my estimation).

In the Mclarens, it's an evolution, plus the fact there's so little suspension articulation needed (probably like 1-2" max lol) that allowed the removal of the sways.

Either way, hyraulic lines to resist body roll, good stuff! Remarkable how something so simple can come along 100+ years into car history and change things so well. I honestly think my TRDOR has less highway roll than my 2014 Mazda3 GT... which is pretty amazing. And I like the fact (compared to Nissan) that I won't need special shocks.
