Interesting shock change out observation

So about 6 months ago I swapped out my OME 60028 shocks for some Bilstein 5125s to help "tame" my ride. I was sick of the harshness around town like many folks are...

Anyway, in the rear the Billies are paired with OME 890s. Up front I am still running my OME 881/OME Nitrocharger combo.

Now... the interesting part... by simply changing out the shocks in the rear it seems I've gained a hair over 1/4" of lift. My only guess is that the OME shocks were the limiting factor. Now I really want to upgrade the front to some Toytec BOSS Coilovers... just can't justify spending the cash on it now.

Hey kruegs, Do you like the ride of the 890's? I just installed them with 5100 billies and I like the ride but sometimes I think it's too "plush" I can't really tell from the driver's seat. I have the TRD tundra coils in front with tundra 5100's there too so it looks like at least lift height wise we have similar vehicles.

I do like the ride of those 890s with the Billies overall. There are 2 instances where I think a little more dampening from the shocks would be good... 1) Highway speeds when you hit larger bumps, dips etc, and 2) washboard roads at speed.

For almost 3 years, I had my 890 coils with the OME 60028 shocks and the ONLY time I thought they were good was when I was fully loaded and had a lot of weight in the back for comping trips.
