Interior Door Panel Question

I have an 89 base DLX. I think the door panels were re-upholstered at some point. I want them back to original. I know the truck probably came with vinyl door panels, so I am upgrading to fabric. Here is my question.

Did all the trucks have a carpet strip at the bottom of the panel? Did they all have map pockets? I have seen some with elastic map pockets and others with hard plastic. Was the stitching always horizontal or can it be vertical?

I just had all the seats re-upholstered and I save the vinyl on the sides. The seats were pretty faded. Now I am getting the door panels and I am debating about keeping a carpet trim or not.

Any experts out there? I would appreciate seeing any pics or ideas of what the trucks looked like.

All of my trucks have vinyl at the bottom, and molded map pockets.

EDIT - the doors on my 84 are carpeted at the bottom

From my understanding, the DLX trim has all vinyl door panels with crank windows and the SR5 trim has carpet strip on the bottom with power windows and door lock (84-87). Then, Toyota updated the panels in 88-89 model years that are suede with built-in power D/W control switches.

Couldn't find pics to show at the moment but most folks know what I'm talking about lol.
