Interior panel fitment issue.

2016 TEP 17,000 miles
The seem between the power window panel and the
Soft door panel is pushing up. See pictures of bad one versus normal. I've tried to see if it would just pop back down but no luck. I have another trail edition and it's perfect.

Question is do y'all think toyota will warranty this panel for a proper fitting one?

Did you try pushing down on it to get it to seat properly? I mean if it's bothering you that much, take it to the dealer and have them warranty it (I'm assuming you're under 36k).

I would say pop the master switch out and see if you can re-seat it, but if you break it you're buying a new one; let the dealer **** with it.

Be calm & respectful, but adamant that this is not a level of quality that is acceptable on such an expensive vehicle and politely ask to speak with the manager if you get the run-around.

I have the exact same issue on my 2017 TRD OR. Driver side panel only. I'm coming up on my 5000 miles appointment, I'm going to show it to them then and see what they say.

I've loosened the door panel and tried to realign the two pieces but they are connected as one piece. Just a mold flaw. I'd like a new door panel and just hope the kid mechanic at the dealership doesn't make it rattle.

Oh you're right, the focus was a bit off so I though that was part of the master switch assembly. No that's a defect in the door panel it looks like, it should be covered under warranty.

On a side note, it's cute how you all think it's the younger guys that **** everything up. There's plenty of old, burnt out guys just flat-rating stuff because warranty doesn't pay worth a damn that **** things up. It's not always the young guys.

With my OCD, its a real deal, It takes all I can just to ignore it, constantly pushing down on it, hoping it would stay.

True side note. When I worked for Bell Atlantic/Verizon I would do everything I did like I would want it done in my home. My kid is now the same way. Don't believe everything you watch on the news. Only 95% of todays youth are worthless lol

My 2cents: it's not perfect and it should be. However, it's not that bad and if it were me I'd leave it alone. Not worth having the dealer tear into it and possibly make it worse/introduce rattles, etc.

That's my M.O. Doesn't always work, but i feel self righteouss, and that's cool.

Warranty

I was almost up on my 3/36 and so I took it in to toyota of cedar park. Bam! Replaced the entire panel under warranty the next day.

Perfect now.
