Interior Rattles After 100k Miles?

Test drove a 2004 4Runner with 125k miles and it was a rattle trap.

The trunk showed evidence of a sub install so I'm hoping it was just that vehicle.

With the said, how bad are your rattles after 100k miles?

mine is silent besides a small cool weather noise from the hatch. Otherwise my 03 is silent.

There's your problem signs of a sub install, so maybe the previous bumped the bass so much stuff starts shaking loose, my first car back in the 90's was a small hatchback I had 2 20' subs and I bumped that shit till a weld on the door broke loose..

Our 05 has 138k it only has a sunroof rattle from time to time.

My only rattle ( and it's a loud one ) is the damned sunroof. Not sure how to resolve it, but it is extremely annoying.

200K Km's not rattle

Mine has 200K km's and no rattles, just the odd time (once every 8months or so), i hear squeaking noise from the back. Never found out what it was and not a big deal.

I have a slight sunroof rattle at 103k, but nothing that drives me nuts (only rattles when in vent). Other than that, it's quiet! Although when cold, there is a rattle or two until everything warms up.... to be expected!

Thanks guys! Test drove another one today and it had the sunroof rattle. Easy fix or something that I will have to live with?

Likely the rods which can be fixed with a rubber grommet, or even more likely.. a loose roof rack bar. They can be tightened with a torx driver.

something you have to live with. I've greased mine and it lifts and rattles. I have tried to do everything but it still rattles. Dressing the seal helped a bunch but it eventually wears off. Nothing is loose, its the plastic guides clicking together.

BTW, same FUK from GMFS?
