Does anyone have one of these in their rides? I'm thinking about buying one instead of a CD Changer since my Ipod can hold almost unlimited amount of songs. Any tips would be appreciated.

I put a sony unit that has the ipod hookup. It goes into the glovebox and its easy to use. I don't know that there is one for a factory unit. I got the sony 820ip. I think. From techronics.com for around 150$

tip - buy a new Head Unit

For about the same price, maybe even a little cheaper, you can buy a new head unit with a built in iPod adapter. I have my iPod in the glove box, and then had an Aux cable added as well. I think I spent less than $200.00 for my head unit w/installation.

I hope this helps...

Pound's option is a good one too. Just keep in mind you will need a wiring harness and plastic 'sleeve' to fill the void under an aftermarket deck. They should run about $15 a piece. I don't know if you plan on installing whatever you get yourself but I would recommend it. It's easy. You can probably find write-ups and if not I would be happy to help.

That neo adapter you are looking at looks like it has everything you would need too...with a nice price. I would go with the $135 one unless you want text display in which case go with the USA SPEC for $25 more. Definitely go with an adapter or aftermarket deck over a changer, you'll be glad you did.

Another option to think about is the Clean Sweep from JL Audio. You get an ipod hookup, plus improved sound quality to your factory head unit.

It was made for those who want to keep their factory head unit, but want the improved sound quality of an aftermarket head unit.

I have one for sale if you're interested. I'm selling my 4runner, so I'm removing all my sound equipment....keeping some of it, and selling the rest.

I think I paid around 300 for it. Most online retailers are selling it for about 200. I'll let it go for 100 + shipping

I thought about a new head unit but I hate the look of a single din head unit, and most double din head units are a little pricey, still being a full time college student.

Thanks for all your guys opinions/options. I'll probably just stick with my old fashion tape deck rig untill May comes which brings graduation money.
