Is a catch can really worth it guys?

Just wondering, what is the going consensus on a catch can for stock motors with no supercharger? How many of yall have one on your trucks?

Not necessary, these engines aren't direct injected. It won't hurt to run one, it can reduce buildup on the intake. But the buildup might at worst decrease airflow, but it's nothing like you see on a direct injection engine.

I'm not too concerned about it on mine, I'd rather save the space under the hood.

It won't add performance or longevity to the truck and adds another maintenance item (and thing to leak/fail). Why would you want that?

These engines don't have any of the traits that would hint at a need for one (low tension piston rings, direct injection, high-pressure forced induction, etc.)

My engine made it 325K+ miles so far without one. I just had the intake manifold off to install a supercharger. Yeah, there's a bit of oil film in there, but no build-up. I won't even be installing one with the supercharger - the 7th injector will be cleaning the supercharger and intake system from now on...
