If you are discussing SUV's it depends on what you are planning to use it for. If you are planning to go through walls then yeah bigger is better, if you are just planning to drive it doesn't really matter IMHO. If you want people to move out of your way, then bigger is better.

Yeah, I saw that on gizmodo today and thought, so that is what I saw in a parking lot the other day. The thing was crazy huge. Not quite as big as a semi, but almost. My first thought was that this must cater to people who have their own business and need some crazy towing power.

I think your calculations are a bit off......I could spend an easy 50-70K just on mods + the cost of the 4Runner.
