Ever since I've purchased this 4Runner 2004 RWD (105k miles) I'm going crazy with only one issue in this truck. The gas pedal vibrates when I give acceleration. Its more severe/loud growling engine noise during first 10 minutes of cold start. Then after that its still there through out driving. Vibration varies to speed also notably to some uphill.
More is observed in city driving starting at 15mph-45mph. I call it vibration/pulsation that I feel in my feet when pressing gas pedal. Its feeling is like something you'll feel when you put your hands over mixer while its running (making milk shake). Anyways, a mixer will vibrate more its not that severe. But I could feel my feet bit numb/different after long drive.
On Freeways its less but its always there. Tried to put it in neutral and its not there much. I do acknowledge some of it could be due to wheel balancing. But its not that. I've experience driving lots of car I could tell if its wheel balancing is bad.
I recently did partial transmission fluid exchange. Its a non-sealed transmission. Oil color was very dark red/brown. The transmission was fine earlier as well but with 4 quarts exchange its bit better. It did not resolve my issue of vibration. Also tried 2OZ shudder FIXX. Did not help either.
Already showed it to 2 different very good toyota mechanics they both test drove car, both of them did not even bother to open and look under hood. They just shooed me away saying your car is fine, trust your car. Nothing they could do to fix. Did not charge me anything, not like I was not willing to pay. But if they are not even ready to look saying its fine, then its making me crazy where to take it to??
I do not have experience driving 4.0 trucks or large trucks. I've CRV as biggest suv other than that and its does not drive like it. Have had many toyota/lexus sedans in past and they are butter smooth. So, I don't know if its common for trucks to drive this way.
So I came here to ask one simple question. Is the vibration/sensation that I feel is common trait of 4runner or its really something wrong in my truck??
If its not common then any pointers what to tell mechanics to look into so that they could figure out if there's problem?
