This is pretty random but I saw a lot of nice 3rd gen 4runners at church today and it came to mind that these beasts are up to 19 years old..WHAT!! They have really aged well IMO

Yeah, a buddy and I were just talking about this.

most of the ones that pop up on craigslist have well over 200k and upwards of 300k and are in incredible shape and still running quite well.

Not too many vehicles out there can claim the same

Your right about them aging well. My 96 ( the oldest of the 3rd gens ) looks way more modern then our old 87 and it's only 9 years newer. And with similar mileage is holding up better. But that could be due to the age difference.

I was just talking about this too. They really do still look good, not out of style at all. I also have an '01 BMW 740i (last year for that body style) and I feel the same way about it.

That's because the 3rd generation 4Runner has the quintessential 4x4 SUV shape. It'll never go out of style because it was one of the cleanest iterations of that classic shape which most 4x4 oriented SUV's before and after it have been modeled on.

The third gen 4Runner is like Gwyneth Paltrow.

She may be getting a little older, but she is still way nicer looking and has way more class than her latest competition. ;-)

Lol driving a BMW has got to feel a hella lot more accelerating than a 3rd gen.

I'm amazed here in SoCal how many Gen 3's I see on the road that are in immaculate condition. I had my first 2002 2WD Sport Ed for 10 years and 130K and never had a single issue with it - Toyota just got it right with all aspects of the Gen 3 IMO.

They could of gave it some extra HP but i'm not complaining
