Is my 3 mile commute bad for my 4r?

I looked into those, and it seems like most of them don't have any protection against overcharging the battery. It's usually limited by the fact that the current is very low, but if you get one that's too big it could overcharge the battery, which will damage it over time. I didn't want to risk it, so I use a plug-in trickle charger as needed. Even that probably isn't the best for the battery since the voltage is a bit higher than I would like, but occasional use shouldn't hurt it.

A plug in trickle charger will not harm the battery. I've been running a Battery Tender on 3 different motorcycles for about 7 years now, with no ill effects (and motorcycle batteries are much more sensitive than car batteries.) I got the battery tender because I was tired of replacing MC batteries every 3 - 4 years (which used to be the norm.) Since I started using a battery tender I have yet to replace a motorcycle battery.

Where in Mpls are you at? I am down in Kingfield. I am always jealous of the guys that get to go wheeling but then remember how crappy the roads are in Mpls and its like the same thing! hahahaha

I just moved from uptown just a bit north to Arden Hills for some more space. I am jealous of all of the rust free frames on here. I have been reading about the frame replacements a few folks got from Toyota.

I was able to take a good look underneath my T4R and the frame is actually really clean for being a MN truck. The previous owner had the undercoating done at my dealership, going to have it reapplied just to be safe. I used to have a 97 Suburban and every spring I would be under it with a wire brush and about 6 cans of rubberized undercoating, people couldnt believe it was a 9 year old truck LOL.

Man If I had a 3 mile commute I would just bike.. My commute is 20 miles.. But takes me 45 min. to an hour.. Fken hate bay area traffic. Took me an hour this morning. because everyone slowed down because there was slight debris from an accident yesterday.. Many people should not have a drivers license..

On topic.. Just Take the truck on weekends.. Warm it up.. Get a remote starter..

Geez.. My walk to school in high school was further than that.. almost 2 miles.. I almost wish I can still do that for exercise.. That walk from school sure felt long when I needed to go # 2. :/

Haha thats 40* funny. I have been debating remote start, but now that I got a 2nd car idk anymore.
