Is my 4th Gen '08 v6 supposed to have a steering wheel lock?

Today, while getting a 2-way fob for the alarm & remote start system that I did not know my second-hand 4R has, I realized that my steering wheel does not lock when the ignition key is removed. I never paid any attention to that feature, so I'm not sure if this is a recent development or it was like this since I got it.

If my T4R is supposed to have a locking steering wheel, what should I start checking for missing/broken/worn out parts?

Yes, it should have one. Sometimes it takes a quarter turn or more of the wheel for it to engage. Are you sure you turned it enough? If I remember right the lock is not serviceable and is located on the bottom side of the steering column. Should be a silver cylinder under there.
