Is T-Mobile Better than 2 Paper Cups and a String ?

Apparently Im a on some list somewhere because this is the second time I've received offers for Unlimited cell phone data plans. This time it's from T-Mobile.
Is their service better, equal to or worse than AT&T??

They are offering about $28/per line for 2 lines with unlimited data. We use iPhones.

I just switched from Verizon to the TMobile magenta max plan and I'm so damn pleased. I don't have home internet and I hotspot my phones for everything. I average about 250gb of data usage per billing cycle. No issues with internet. No dropped calls. I got 4 lines of completely unlimited un-throttled data, with 2 nice phones and 2 decent phones, and I pay about $60/month less than I did for 2 lines and no phones at Verizon.

Customer service has been good so far. I noticed they added a media package and phone insurance to my plan right before my first bill was due. I got on the chat feature on the app and told them I never wanted those additions. They took it off and recalculated my bill on the spot no hassle. Verizon was always like pulling teeth to get any billing disputes fixed.

I don't know if there is much difference. It's pretty competitive. We had problems with verizon, but that was many years ago. AT&t was ok, but at that time international and VOIP sucked. Traveling international T-Mobile was the absolute ONLY game for a while. So we have stayed with them. Things change, but overall, T-Mobile has been good to us. We just replaced our Iphone 6's with 12's. After a conference with them, they offered a deal we couldn't refuse. So guess we are staying.

Decided to change to T-Mobile after 10 + years at ATT.
Unlimited data in US, Europe, Caribbean and saving enough $ each month to get a take out dinner.
SIM cards should be here in a week.

With ATT it was 5Ge, which is not 5G, and with T-Mobile it is LTE which is fine for us since we have iPhone 11’s that are not 5G anyhow.

I have had more “bars” with T-Mobile locally. When we travel next I will be watching this.

Since we have unlimited data now that concern is over.

AT&T releases its technology in half-generations, whereas other major carriers roll out the next full generation. When other carriers had 3G, their “4G” was HSPA+, a fiber-backhauled 3G which, for once, fully utilized the bandwidth of 3G technology without having to touch every tower and add new antennas.

The problem with “true 5G” is how spotty it still is. The short throw of the millimeter wave make those high advertised speeds possible only in city blocks densely packed with radios (downtown urban, malls, stadiums).

5GE was enhanced LTE that upgraded the nationwide blanket of existing 4GLTE. What good is 5G+ (true 5G) if I have to make stops at places that weren’t on my itinerary just to use it?

A cell phone technology is only as good as the uninterrupted coverage and steady speeds it can support for a family with iPads moving 70 MPH down the interstate. Anything next-gen technology that is largely stationary or otherwise area-restricted needs to be advertised as what it truly is - FIXED wireless.
