Is there any way I actually have 4.56's?

I got all excited when I checked my door tag, because it's A04A. According to one online chart, "04" equals 4.56's.

01 = 3.42
02 = 3.58
03 = 4.10
04 = 4.56
05 = 3.15
06 = 3.91

But according to SS's chart, I have 3.90's or 4.10's with the 265's.


My truck is a '99 Highlander WITH e-locker. I am now going to go home, jack the truck up and do the "spin one wheel and count the driveshaft rotations" trick, because I really want to know.

What are the bets? 4.10's, 4.30's or 4.56's?? To bad I can't figure a spread or an over/under for this type of wagering.....lol

I'm guessing 4.30s since the elocker, but you never know.

Those internet charts are notoriously inaccurate. 4.30s are the most agreed upon gears for factory locker. I don't know of any 3rd gens with factory 4.56s. I know the brochures mentioned 4.10s for certain SR5 packages and 4.30s for lockers.

If you have the 4 banger then you might have 456's but since you've got a Highlander you probably got the V6...

the only way i am aware of getting 4.56's in a 4runner was to get a 2.7 with a manual and 31's from the factory. but then it would not be e-locked. you can get the e-locker with 4.56's but it was in the 2.7 TRD Tacoma

Yep, so I have 4.30's. Fine with me, I think 285s will roll just fine with those.

Checked mine, it's A04B. Anyone know which gears I have? I have a 2.7L 4WD auto.
