So I found a 97 limited with e-locker for only 1500...
Here's the catch though, the rear is leaking cause it's rusted through, the alternator is out and there is a ton of rust, some light frame... But a ton of body rust... Is it worth my time and money? And now for the encore the pics...

That is a car that is only good for parting out. That much rust can only end up costing you more than the car is worth, not to mention working on something with that much rust is almost an impossible feat. EVERY bolt rusted is horrific to wrench on.

Door sill

First off, i hope you wouldn't plan on buying that as a daily driver.. trail rig, maybe IF anything. But, that's ummm.. a lot of rust. $1500, you get what you pay for. seriously, i wouldn't even waste my time with that. you can find a shell with WAY less rust, if any rust and drop a used motor in for $2000-$2500 total. that looks like just a pothole away from cracking in half. if it has that much rust showing.. what rust ISNT showing?

i personally think you'd regret it. you'd get more out of buying 1500, 99cent cheeseburgers.

Will it be a trail rig or daily driver? Trail, yes because you will scratch the paint and beat on it. Daily driver is a no, tomuch can go wrong on the way to work...

Would have been a daily... But my gut is telling me no way too much $h!t to go wrong....

Kinda off topic but I have ranted about Toyota and rust before. Has anyone seen similar rust damage on other trucks? I live is the South so we don't get that but it seems that Toyota really screwed up on rustproofing... I have not seen other brands that look anything like what gets posted here

OP: Walk away from it. I wouldnt even have that as a trail rig. You (and your riders) would need a tetanus shot to even get near that. Heck, I think I may have gotten exposed to it by just looking at the photos! I wouldn't even give him 1k for parts.
Ghostrider - rust has always been an issue with Toyota. While the drive train is pretty much indestructible, the frame/body/interior is far from that. The vehicle will disintegrate from rust long before the engine stops running. That's what Toyota has capitalized on: drive trains. Other than that, it's a crap shoot.

Nooo. Thats pretty bad. Unless you plan on parting out anything that might be good on it. Seems like a headache to me.

Salt Corroded POS

You must be kidding. Looks like something that was hauled out of the ocean. That thing will crack in half the first speed bump it hits.

From the south

or central texas anyway. So we don't see salt on roads to develop rust like that But i have seen plenty of vehicles worse than that. They are always living on the beaches. Regardless, I would Never buy that as a DD. Maybe a ranch/hunt vehicle but I'd be afraid to crawl it-like Good ol Boy said, its just a pothole or big rock away from breaking in half. I can only imagine what the engine compartment looks like. If you have to take a shot at it, offer 500 or walkaway as others said. :amen:
