Is this real life? Dashboard recall

I just got a letter from Toyota and it had briefly explained the warranty situation pertaining to lines on the dashboard due to heat/humidity...did anyone get this recently?

I do have cracks on the dashboard but the problem is that I am not sure if I am eligible for it. I have a 2004 Toyota 4Runner and if they imposed the 10-year warranty, I would be one year too late since it is year 2015...not 2014. Unless I can take it in anytime before May 31, 2017?

I'm really confused with the wording on this letter so I plan on making contact with my local stealership but wanted to see if anyone else got the same mail recently. Thanks boys

Call Toyota but theres also a massive thread about this recall which will probably have all the info you need. I don't have any cracks but I was wondering if Toyota would let me have a new dash for down the road should anything happen. I highly doubt it.......

I have a 2004 and when the dealer ran my VIN they ordered the new dash. Told me it was covered by the recall but some were not. Mine even has 270k on it and they said it didn't matter. Good Luck

Thanks boys

I'm about to head up there because they confirmed there is a replacement program for dashboards. Did anyone have to come in for a service advisor to take a picture and send it to corporate? How long until they contacted you to make an appointment to replace the dashboard, for anyone whose dashboard was part of the replacement program?

Can't wait to see the tears rolling down their eyes (stealership's) when I check out after they replace the dashboard... $ down the drain because of corporate's **** up designing the dashboard

went to the stealership, they did not even bother to take pictures of dashboard to send off to corporate

instead, they scheduled an appointment for my truck 1st thing in the morning tomorrow after doing a physical verification of said cracks on dashboard

god I <3 Toyota, peasants

They seem to be just releasing them now, despite us having to send pictures in still (which streamlines the process some.)

It doesn't hurt the dealership too much to replace them, hell we get paid to do it for the most part so it's money in our pockets (from Toyota.)
