so i was wondering if anyones runner seems spunky. mine seems to have some good power and acceleration. lots of people try to race my off a stop light and a lot of time i win. another thing is i seem to have really good brakes, they are stock and i have never locked them and am kinda afraid to hound on them because they seem like it would stop very quick. just wondering if anyone felt the same.

perfect shift point: seems to be around 4.3
acceleration: ??
braking: ??
how much they weigh: ??

Before my lift I hit 110 on an empty highway, that was dumb. I don't dare go over 85 now though.

Still wish I had a 5spd though, that would be so nice.

i did mine on the highway stock but havnt been fast with everything i have done now, i love my 5 spd

and another thing i can only burn my tires in 1st, that kinda sucks

And to further answer your querry thor, yes my 4runner has lots of pep with the deckplate, ISR, and ECT on. Even with them big 'Ol 33's.

i dont believe you on that one

they many only have 185-210 HP based on what you have dont but i know i could beat one of those pos. my town is all about imports and there is lots of racing and mine is one of the better for sure

I bet with your non-geared heavy 4Runner with 33" tires, your aerodynamically challenged roof rack, N/A 3.4, and added weight, your truck is far from "spunky." I am sure the stock brakes you're running don't help it stop very well, either.

I agree with 4-Ripcord. If you want to go 110mph, do it in a car that is made to go fast. Don't do it in your 4Runner. That's just stupid.

My 3RZ will be turbo'd in due time, with more power than a 8 PSI SC'd 3.4, and that's with stock bottom end (3RZ is a boost monster). I still won't be doing 110mph. I won't be cornering it like a mofo, either. It's a truck. Drive it like one. Power is good in these for torque and towing, not for speeding.

you can say whatever you want but i know my truck very well. if you dont think yours can go fast dont, if you dont think you can handle corners dont, i know they arnt made for speed and dont plan on it, thats why im buying a nissan 350z, i know my truck is great on its own, add trailer and it gets down really bad and feels super under powered, thats why you buy a SC. i know what she can do and cant do

I can handle my 4runner at high speeds in corners and on straights, but that is not the point, its doesnt mean jack sh*t how well you know your truck, the fact of the matter is your doing mods that are half assed, that is fine if your building a mall crawler and drive like grandma, but you don't you say you wheel and tow often, so those spacers on the 11 year old springs are horrible for towing and offroading, which is why you rub when you towed that stuff, offroad it also limits flex and warps the springs, not to mention the adverse effects on on-road handling. Don;t even get me started on your wiring jobs, i saw the photos you posted, Im surprised none of them have melted to the exhaust manifold or got caught in the radiator fan, and after those bang up ideas you had i can only imagine how else you half assed the truck. If your going to do something right, you do it right the first time or don't do it at all, it saves you time and money, or even your life.

I know i have half assed my set of projects on my truck, and hope you don't get offended by this, but you made "is your truck cool like my truck is" and it kinda got too me.

Like HELL you know your truck. Your mods show how much you REALLY know about cars and trucks.

For example:

1. Your god awful skull shaped wheels are the most hideous things on this side of the world. I am sure you'll be mad when you scrape them on the little yellow poles in the mall parking lot.

2. You have a large roof rack that you don't use, except for holding your useless damage multiplying grille guard.

3. The grille guard in it's entirety should have been gone ages ago. We all know they're damage multipliers and diminish your approach angles.

4. Your lights look like they were wired by the Amish

5. You have a high lift jack, but I couldn't help but notice you don't even have sliders or real bumpers, so whats the jack even for? Looks?

6. Your suspension lift is made up with spacers, which I shouldn't have to explain.

7. Your HID's in halogen housings, where are your projectors?!

8. Tacky interior blue lights? Wiring exposed? That's not someone who knows their truck.

9. Using SUPER GLUE To cover the fog light holes?! Get some OEM pieces or get some fog lights!

If you think that anyone would consider a person who does these kinds of mods to KNOW their truck, you've got a LOT of learning to do.

Where are the real mods? Instead of wasting money on dumb wheels and Coopers (who wheels with coopers, honestly?!), why didn't you buy a set of nice BFG's or Duratracs? Why not have spent the money on Rock sliders? Tundra brakes? An offroad bumper? A 4X4 E-locked truck deserves better. Your mod list looks like something a 16 year old kid with no driving experience would write.

And then you have the audacity to claim you're going 110mph in the thing.

I hope you get your 350Z, and then realize driving is not a petty game when you wrap the thing around a pole.

On a separate note, we're all here to do what we like and what suits you, but by GOD don't even try and brag if you don't have the rights.

I hate to be so mean, I am usually a nice guy, but my god man. You take the cake.

I never brag, I never act superior, and I never claim that my truck is better than anyone elses. It's just a 2WD 4cyl. Be that as it may, regardless of my future plans to convert to 4WD and turbo, at least I (and the rest of the board) know how to mod a truck.

I get bothered by people who claim to be knowledgeable on something that they're clearly not.

I would understand it if people gave me crap for a bad mod, and that's why I don't have my billet grille anymore. Why would you tell someone you like a mod on their truck if you really hated it? I think I have the right to express my dislike for the mods that people do, after all this is a discussion forum.

hmm well i could explain how what you are saying is wrong, but honestly its not worth my time. its whats known as a work in progress, getting roof extension and tire for top and yes i do use it, sliders and plate bumper are soon to come in the summer. i do what i want how i want it. i want it to look good and still be function, i know what i am doing with all the wiring. i know the coils suck, that why i replaced them and fixed that, and the only reason they rub it bc they are 12.5" wide. im not a wheeler, i know that, i dont have a place to or people to with. DO NOT CALL IT FAKE!!!! i do off road a lot in the summer. mud. floods. down trees. pulling trucks and tractors out of the ditches. hauling all kinds of toys. pulling trees over. honestly i dont care what most of you think. im not some one who has money, i work hard for what i get and get what i can.

I have troubling finding the function in your truck's mods. Lets see... I see you've got some lights, cool. You've got a rack.. but you don't use it... You have a high lift jack, but no lift points. You have a thin, damage multiplying brush guard. You have a lift, but a spacer one. You have a set of large tires, which rub and are not of aggressive tread. You have moto metal wheels which do not provide any more of a service than OEM. You have giant stickers on the windshields. You also have poor wiring that is exposed in multiple places and tacky interior lighting.

Where is this added function you speak of? A shovel?

Again, this is knowing what you're doing? Are they correct guages? What's the amperage running through each? Are they fusible and running no more than 2 lights each? Why aren't they loomed correctly?
