Thor, don't worry about what the others are saying man. You know, I read this crap more and more, and it really makes me sick. Every time I open a thread, I see someone bashing someone elses rig, because it's different! Seriously?? Grow up people! Not everybody has tones of cash to throw at their 4Runner, and buy like 3 sets of rims for! Not everybody has the cash to drive a Mercedes either!
Thor simply made a statement that he thinks his truck is quick, Big F'n Deal! You guys trash talk over the net like a bunch of school girls! Why can't everybody just get along, and give the guy some props from trying to do stuff on his own!
Mods are highly subjective, yet every time someone posts something that is different, they get flamed for it! I've said it before, and I'll say it again, "If everybody did all the same crap to their trucks as the next guy, it would be a mighty boring 3rd Gen Picture Gallery! "Look....it's another 3rd Gen with a plate bumper, rock sliders, Duratracs, and some LED tail lights...Cool!" Give me a break guys! I love to see the built up rigs with all the armor and stuff, but seriously, adding a brush guard is not a f'n sin!
As for the half-assed mods: That's how you learn! Not everyone is gifted in tech stuff, not everybody knows this stuff from the craddle, and not everybody has the patience to spend 8 hours wiring lights up. I'm not saying the lighting stuff is safe, but give a guy a chance to learn, without calling him out and flaming him on a public forum.
C.O.B, you've got a nice rig, with some limitations, that you have surely fixed, and plan on fixing. You don't see me or anybody else telling you it's a POS because it's a 2WD....do you? I don't think that your Billet grill was such a bad mod, and wouldn't call you on it either. It may not be for everybody, but it was a decent mod, that was tasteful in my opinion. That being said, you seem to make it a point to constantly flame others over their mods, just because they don't meet your criteria for a "useful" mod. Does painting your D-Rings red make them more useful??? How about switching your rims over 3 times, changing your side mirrors, adding clear corners, or adding a Scooped hood???
Again, I personally like the scooped hood, but it gives you absolutely no utility, other than looking cool. Should we flame you and everyone else for adding that???
Let's try to keep this forum friendly. It's the only reason many of us even frequent here, because it's alot more friendly than some of the others out there. There are a good group of guys on here, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe that Thor has ever insulted anybody about their rigs in the past. Why do it to him???
