Heheh. Yea, thats on all the car forums it seems. Even the Heep forum had those knuckleheads. The BMW forum is full of 25-30yr olds that had $50K "modded" 335s and live with their parents and think that is cool.

its really good to know what kind of people are on here. im not going to make a cookie cutter 4Runner like most are on here. im using this as a reference not a source. i made a build thread mostly as a place for ME to keep track of what i have done to it and what i plan to do to it. any real useful input on any of my mods will be taken into consideration for the future.

cookie cutter runner is ones that have all the same things, like the housing additions that all the houses look the same.

all the same tires, all the same rims, all the same sliders and bumpers, same gears, same lifts, same baskets, same headlights, ect...

i dont want that ever, i like to stand out when i can and what i do i do not do to stand out though, i do it because i want to and what i do tends to stand out, thats just me and if you dont like it i dont care

I completely disagree and can't say there is any cookie cutter 4Runner build that everyone has. The more popular lift/rack/bumper setups are popular because they work well, are priced well, and made available from awesome retailers/builders/companies that serve the community well and fill a need that enthusiast have. Members aren't throwing (insert you own example here) on their truck because the cool kids are doing it, they do it properly outfit their trucks for what they're using it for.

The trend of blacking out a vehicle (Murdered) sure makes for a lot of the same looking trucks/cars for the most part and while that one looks cool once you've seen it you've pretty much seen 'em all.

Hey guys!

Thor, I'm really sorry your thread took so much heat! I really don't know what's got everybody so uptight??

C.O.B, Not really sure why you got so upset about his initial post?? He was simply making a statement that he thought his truck was exceptional and wanted to know if the rest of us felt the same.

The rest of you guys that are hating, just seem to jumping on the bandwagon, which, I don't understand either. I guess alot of crap has been said (typed), and alot of people got offended on both sides of the table.

I can understand why Thor would lash out after being attacked like he was, however, extending it farther than it had too, could have been avoided. That being said, I'm thinking the best way to conclude all this non-sense, is to simply man-up, apologize to eachother for being so negative towards eachother and our rigs, and simply move on??

We all know that there is a great wealth of knowledge here, great people behind that knowledge, and it's normally a great place to hang out and learn about this hobby I like to call "4Running"!

Again, I'm on my soap box here, but alot of this could have been avoided, if those who did not agree with Thor, simply said so, using Diplomatic wording rather than outwardly flaming him. We can easily express our opinions, without insulting people. Using the sentence: "I'm not really a fan of (insert the mod of choice), but props for trying it out!" or "Honestly, not really feeling the (insert mod of choice), but if you like it....than that's all that matters!" In Thor's case, regarding his past wiring job: "Hey man, props for trying that out, but if you don't mind me saying, it may be a little cleaner / safer, if you use wire loom to cover those wires...".

I guess what I'm trying to say is, we can give constructive critisism without bashing the OP.

I'm really having trouble seeing all of you guys bicker like this, we are all part of a tight nit group of 4Runner enthusiasts. You can maybe even call it a brotherhood (sorry if there are some ladies among us), how about we all agree to disagree and just call it a day??

To conclude, and hopefully get the ball rolling, I'd like to apologize before all of you, to C.O.B, and whom ever else I may have insulted while trying to defend Thor. I'm sure some of my words, could have insulted some of you, and I would like to express my deepest apologies.
