ISO HELP - 2000 3rd Gen Build Up

If any of you all have a second - I would much appreciate some guidance on ideas for building up a new "used" buy of a 2000 3rd Gen 4runner.

I won't be doing any off roading/4x4 action - just street driving. But I would like the 4x4 look.

I am debating the following:
- wheels - 17" vs 16"? Mickey Thompson, ProComp, American Racing??
- thus leading to tires - 265 vs 270?
- in turn, leading to lift or no lift? 1"?

My initial thought is to do no lift - decide which rim to get and then match a set of BF Goodrich Tire (Long Trail) on it. Throw on a roof basket - which I will use, and then take off the running boards.

Any help is much appreciated - as I need someone with someone with experience to help guide me. I've attached an image of the car - needs some beautification.

Thanks
Jamie

Go through the 3rd gen builds sticky, that will give you some ideas.
:iagree:

if your thinking no lift but more of a 4x4 look you could look at getting a more aggressive tire in a 265 size.

This is a goodyear duratrac in a 265/75r16. stock 5 stars obviously. He said it was slightly higher than stock ride height but i'm not entirely sure what slightly is. I'm sure you could message and ask http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/109734-265-75r16-duratracs-way.html link to the post i found the picture in.

Best advice. Do what you like!
